INNOVATION WORKFORCE: READY TO FLY!

Day 1 (Nov 30): Innovation Economy

This year’s Symposium, the 3rd of our “annual” convenings – will draw a sharper focus on the aviation and aerospace domain within our DART ecosystem. This is not to diminish the importance of these other domains, but rather the recognize the unique and opportunity rich moment we are in with the convergence of a number of key drivers in the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and broader aerospace sector. Our hope is that over the course of the 2-day symposium, the uniqueness of this moment in AAM evolution will be evident, so that we can take strategic steps to realize the potential, then leverage those gains to drive continued development across a range of DART domains.

  • What is the economic opportunity in the AAM revolution?
  • How are other parts of country organizing to meet this opportunity?
  • What is the role of government in supporting progress in the dart domain?
  • What is the unique value proposition and opportunity for the Monterey Bay/Central Coast region?

Day 2 (Dec 1): Innovation Workforce

Deeper dive into the opportunities and challenges of meeting the moment and realizing the DART/AAM economic and community benefits by developing an innovative, adaptive, nimble, and relevant workforce. Day 2 will feature industry leaders working in the DART/AAM space talking about their workforce development experiences, needs and plans.

We will also hear from workforce representatives and community-based organizations, working to ensure inclusive and equitable economic growth. Our hope is that this conversation will inspire engagement and action to realize our unique opportunities and further establish the Monterey Bay region as a leading example and actor in advanced technology and inclusive economic development.

  • What skills are in demand by local employers?
  • What skills and other factors are limiting the growth of local companies?
  • How can workforce training ecosystems improve alignment with needs? How can employers better attract and retain talent?
