Brooks McChesney

Position: Independent Venture/Start-Up Consultant

Brooks McChesney has been an entrepreneur and senior executive in technology companies spanning multiple vertical markets and industries. Most recently he served as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey teaching social entrepreneurship and was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Intel Corporation. Previously he was the President & CEO of Vidient Systems, a Company he founded, and whose core technology he successfully spun out of NEC’s Multimedia Research Lab, to produce intelligent video surveillance software used to secure critical infrastructure, both civilian and military, transportation hubs and other sensitive facilities worldwide.

Currently he consults with a variety of venture funds and start-up companies, providing strategic management and business consulting services, helping them prepare their initial business plans, secure funding and develop successful sales and marketing strategies. Representative clients include YoDerm/Apostrophe (acquired by Hims & Hers Health), Carmel Honey Company and Agxactly.

He is a member of the Naval Postgraduate Foundation in Monterey, CA; a member of the Advisory Board of the iiED (Institute for Innovation & Economic Development) at CSUMB; and a founder of the Startup Challenge Monterey Bay business plan competition.

He is also an active member of the Stanford Alumni Consulting Team which provides pro-bono management consulting to Central Coast non-profits.
