Cody Cleverly is the Manager of Aviation Academy at Joby Aviation. As the head of Joby Aviation Academy, he oversees workforce development including talent pipelines, apprenticeships, and pre-employment training for positions across the company. Cody is a commercial pilot and flight instructor, and leads a growing ab initio pilot training operation at Joby. Prior to Joby, he held a number of roles at JetBlue Airways where he developed and oversaw programs in talent, learning, and workforce development, and ultimately led JetBlue’s academic learning function. He continues to serve in an advisory role at JetBlue. An entrepreneur at heart, Cody co-founded KC Direct – an e-commerce business – and served as Operating Principal until joining Joby in 2021. Cody earned both an MBA and a M.S. in Human Resource Management from Utah State University’s Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.
